Just looking at some of the talent thats been brought into the league this season as well as what was already there but not quite getting the chance
to show it at other clubs.

what is your best 11 team made up of transfer signings this season including loans

    I reckon mine would be........

    Foster

    --Onuoha----Gallas
    Smalling---Kolarov---
    Tiote

    Van Der Vaart
    Silva

    Suarez
    Odemwingie---Hernandez--

Notable mentions: Luiz, Meireles, Yaya Toure. Ramires, Sturridge, Dembele, Pennant, Welbeck, Gyan, Bent, Shelvy

Great idea for a thread I have to say. Unfortunately I do not know enough to give an opinion on it.

I'm not disagreeing but I don't think Van der Vaart deserves a place in the starting 11,he had a great start to the season but died away.Yaya Toure has been very good throughout.

Sure I'm guessing they'll only be playing in friendlies so I wouldn't think that there'd be limitations on naming subs.

Suarez can alternate as keeper if needed

An Hernandez has to be buy of the season

Kolarov for the attacking flow of my team

And a lot of City fas seem to think Toure has blown very hot and cold as well. Given his price tag and wages I'm not sure he warrants a place here.

Szczesny and Coleman were already with their current clubs even though they had done feck all for them up to now.

Cant believe the lack of Raul Meireles and the inclusion of Ramires, who has been muck any time I have watched Chelsea play.

Ramires has been great, Meireles wasn't great the first half of the season but he'd probably be in mine if I did one.

    Al Habsi
    Onouha Gallas Smalling
    Welbeck Tiote Ramires Silva
    Odemwingie Hernandez Sturridge

Pretty messed up team but I'd say those guys have impressed me this year, just making them fit in was hard!

I really like Welbz and I hope we get him on loan for next year but I don't know if I'd call him the loan of the season.

He started slowly, (although that was mainly because he was playing on the wing in a system that he wasn't used to), had a cracking middle of the season but then suffered from injury big time from January (who doesn't at Sunderland :pac:).

If he had stayed fit I think he'd have ran away with the title of loan of the season, but personally I'd have to give it to Al-Habsi.

    Foster

    --Onuoha---Cathcart---Smalling---Gallas----
    Tiote

    Meireles
    Silva

    Suarez
    Hernandez----Wellbeck----

Would stick Yaya in there for Cathcart but keeping the positions somewhat natural (with the exception of Gallas)

Much of a muchness really imo. Took Ramires a while to get going but came good. Meireles started ok, then dipped in and out of form. Ramires is more defense minded, so that's why i picked him over Meireles

Every team listed here has Smalling in it, seriously did I miss something  and agree with those backing Suarez.

Van der Vaart has to be there, he phased out the last few months but had an amazing season. If it went by the first 3-4 months, chamakh would be there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

tough one this, but here goes....

    Al-Habsi (Wigan)
    Onouha (Sun)----Smalling (Utd)
    Luiz (Che)
    Gallas (Tot)
    Tiote (New)

    Meireles (Liv)
    Toure (City)

    Silva (City)

    Suarez (Liv)
    Hernandez (Utd)

very harsh on Odemwingie, but I let slight bias, plus Suarez's absolute epicness over the last few weeks sway me!

no standout LBs were bought, and i know people will moan about Smalling being in everyone's team, but there's not a huge lot to choose from; and his filling in for Rio was a key reason for Utd's continued momentum.

VDV might be able to count himself unlucky, but he has waned in the last couple of months.

Toure's slightly hot and cold, but there weren't many others that could play there are keep the balance of the team.

I'm guessing you haven't been watching him too closely. He's slotted into the United back four more naturally than anyone I can think of in recent years. He's calm on the ball, can pass off both feet, is extremely quick and is strong in the air. You can't ask for much more than that from a 21 year old. Especially when he's filling in for a player as important as Rio Ferdinand!

He has played about a dozen league games and tbh Vidic is a class act and anyone could look good having him as a partner

Maybe he meant as he signed the previous season and was loaned back to Fulham ;) Same goes for Coleman at Blackpool btw.

    For me:

    ______Al Habsi

    Onouha Luiz Gallas Elmohamady
    ______Toure Tiote

    _____Van Der Vaart

    Odemwingie Hernandez Suarez

Bench: Meireles, Dembele, Sturridge, Pennant, Walker, Foster, Silva

You really have to laugh at everyone putting Sturridge ahead of Suarez!! Like they transferred at the exact same time so you can't say 'he has been there longer than him' or 'didn't do it all season'

Suarez has galvanised Liverpool's season, and the PL.

Sturridge - loan signing 7 goals in 10 games.

    Suarez - 23million 4 goals in 11 games.

    That could be why.

Suarez has assisted 5 others and had a hand in many more that were not classed as an official assist.

Liverpool have averaged 2.7 goals per PL game this season with Luis Suarez playing, compared to 1.28 in his absence.

well that would just be inaccurate, as there were games when kenny was in charge and suarez didnt play.

Puzzled by Gallas inclusion by everyone; part of a defence that's shipped 44 goals and kept only 7 cleanies?

By that reckoning Koscielny has to be ahead of him. Who I wouldn't have in the team btw.

I think value is playing a big part in most peoples' teams. More specifically though, Gallas has made a few noticeable tackles and goal-line clearances this season (not just in the PL) that are probably sticking in peoples' minds.

One thing which is great to see that has remained a constant in everyones teams is none other than Mr T himself.

    Cheik, Cheik, Cheik, Cheik Boooooommmmmm

btw here is my worst team and this really goes on bang for your buck or players that came with big expectations (for me anyway)

    Lindegaard
    ---Boateng---Koscielny----Squillaci
    Konchesky--- (€36million back 4)

    Benayoun----Ireland
    Joe Cole

    Torres----Balotelli----Dzecko
    (€118million 3 striker)

Notable mentions: Milner, Muntari, Pires, Hleb, Makoun, Bentley, Zigic, Beausejour, Ramires , Bridge, Poulsen, Winston Reid, Barrera, Boselli, Van Damme

Having Benayoun in there is pretty harsh IMO. He was missing for 6 months of the season through injury so he has hardly played and he only cost 5 million anyway.

    Boateng----Squillaci
    Alcaraz
    Konchesky

    Dzeko
