Hi ya, I want to organise a fun dog show with agility etc demonstrations for my rescue (fundraiser) but am way off the beaten track so need something central and easy to reach in County Galway. I am only 25 minutes from Loughrea so I thought it be the perfect spot. However, there the brain storming ends as I haven't got a clue if there is something suitable about? Any ideas/contacts? Any info is MUCH appreciated.

I don;t know if it is suitable but have you tried dartfield http://www.dartfield.com/, i know they hold races there, might be worth giving them a shout.

You could try contacting the county council to see if they have any suggestions, do you mean indoor or outdoor?

Why don't you do it in association with an existing agricultural show or the like where public liability insurance would be covered. Mountbellew Ag Show is coming up and so are many others around the county you could latch onto.

The most suitable place in Loughrea is the Fair Green, Its public property. Using private grounds can have its own problems, using a Pitch wouldnt be suitable as no one wants to play in dog s*hit. Good point about the agricultural shows. To be honest the local agri shows are poor though.

I am founder of and representing EGAR (East Galway Animal Rescue). Obviously a strict *pick up after your own dog* policy will apply and be enforced. We are all responsible dog owners.
