Does anyone here believe the rapture is happening this month? If so, is this having any effect on your day to day life?

I wouldn't worry about it too much no one knows when the end is coming except God.
Oddly enough Jesus doesn't seem to know either.

All we know for certain is that either we will die or the end of the world will come, where many but not all will die, and then the Lord will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Worry not about the end of the world but rather the end of your own particular world, for death comes to us all and with the exception of suicide or judicial execution it tends to arrive like a thief in the night.

My life is complicated enough without planning around the predictions of fruitcakes and false prophets.

    Absolutely zero effect.

There's a story (probably apocryphal) that some bunch of reformers were drawing up their plans for the future when an eclipse of the sun occurred. They genuinely believed it was the end of the world. But they decided that it would be better, if Jesus really was returning that day, that He should find them doing their duty rather than sitting around idly. So they lit candles and continued with their work.

I live my life with the awareness that tomorrow Jesus could return - or my own life could be snuffed out by a heart attack or a motorbike accident (both a distinct possibility given the amount I eat and the speed I ride). So I try to live in a state of readiness. But I'm planning for years ahead and think in terms of what will benefit future generations.

    I dunno.

I'd say we'd be given the bums rush by St Peter.

I knew someone, who knew someone, who said goodbye to all/ sold up etc last year as he 'knew' the rapture was coming. (true story)

the human mind is a fascinating thing.

Most Catholics are unaware of what “the rapture” actually is, as the term is used by certain evangelical Protestants.
With respect to the "rapture", Catholics certainly believe that the event of our gathering together to be with Christ will take place, though they do not generally use the word "rapture" to refer to this event (somewhat ironically, since the term "rapture" is derived from the text of the Latin Vulgate of 1 Thess. 4:17—"we will be caught up," [Latin: rapiemur]) which wiil be at the end of time, and no-one knows when that will be.

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matt 24:36.

So you can carry on with the rest of your life! :D
