Non drying moisturisers and foundations

I've always had relatively good skin and never a dry skin issue however at the moment I've changed my diet. I'm not sure is it that or the products that I use but my skin has started to get dry, particularly on the parts of my cheeks nearest my hairline. In the past two months I've used two different moisturisers (Vichy and Loreal) and I've tried two different foundations as well (Revlon and Max Factor). I am wondering does anyone have any good recommendations for a good moisturiser and/or foundation? I don't mind spending a bit but within reason. I'd normally spend more on a foundation than a moisturiser.

Not sure about moisturisers, Im using Johnsons for dry skin at the moment. Its okay, but not really different to Garnier or any of the other brands that Ive tried.

As for foundation for dry skin, ive started using Elizabeth Ardens compact. Its brilliant-especially for nights out as it gives high coverage but with a lovely sheen. During the day, I wet the sponge and only use a touch and it glides on. I was using Revlon foundations before, and even though I LOVED them, they didnt work when I started developing really dry skin, so The E.A. is definately one Id recommend.

I have normal/dry skin and at the moment i am using garnier moisturizing milk and then Nivea moisturizer. I found that any "long lasting" foundations like Rimmel 25hours, Revlon colourstay or any that say they stay on all day REALLY dried out my skin. I am using Rimmel's renew and relift foundation now, it gives great coverage and leaves my skin soft and dewy not a bit dry.

Thanks for the replies. I was just down in Tesco's there and I had about €30 to spend so I said I'd chance my arm and see could I get a moisturiser, foundation, concealer and powder for it. I actually ended up buying that Neutrogena Multi- Defence one, I tried it on my hand and I have to say it feels great so here's hoping it's as good on my face! I decided to try the Barbara Daly for Tesco brand makeup so I bought her Moisture Foundation, powder and concealer. Hope they are good. Ideally I wanted to get Bare Minerals Powder Foundation but I'd need to buy a brush as well as all I have is a foundation brush for liquid foundation and buying all that could end up costly!

Just a quick tip on patchy dryness - I have super dry skin all over my body and on my face, I use Olay on my face and different moisturisers on my body (depends on what I like in the shop when I am buying them!). If my skin is particularly dry I use a thick body moisturiser on my face (on the dry patches) for a few nights and it works very well in clearing them up.

Thanks for the tip Lorebringer! Tonight when getting ready for bed I'll be paying alot more attention to my skincare regime than before!
