I am looking for advice on this issue.

I was made redundant over a year ago it was unexpected so about 3 months before that my friends and I booked a trip to West Coast of US for 11 days this Sept. Flights booked and paid, deposist etc. The trip is to celebrate our milestone birthdays & as we got a great deal by booking early we went ahead.

I never though I would be out of work so long and lucky I had been saving for ages before we booked it so can afford to go. However problem is now if i do go for interviews and am lucky to get job how do I appraoch the subject of the trip.

I know in interviews to say nothing about it but with job market way it is I hate to think it would count against me. Cancelling the trip and losing all that money is not an option.

    Any advice be greatly appreciated.

The best way to go about it is not to mention it in interview, unless asked directly if you have anything holidays booked. Generally, I dont think it would be held against you and an employer would usually accomodate a pre-arranged holiday, and may offer the time off as unpaid leave.
