You can alter what you want but you will be charged a downgrade price per service...I think its currently €20 per service...So for example say you downgrade your tv pack from max pack to basic pack and your broadband pack 20mb to 10mb you will be charged €40.

It is €10 to downgrade, not €20.

However just today UPC launched a whole new bunch of packages which include TV, phone and BB for very, very good prices. Take a look at their website.

Once you decide what you want, call them up to order it. If they give you any hassle or want to charge you a downgrade fee, then threaten to leave UPC for Sky or Freesat and they should put you onto the customer loyalty department who should give you a very good deal.

What packs are you currently getting, TV, phone, BB? Do you get TV + phone from Eircom?

Let us know and we can help point you at the best deals.

Take a read of this thread:

Loads of people were able to change their packages today.

Just complain about being a loyal customer and now being treated badly and that you want to cancel and go to Sky/Freesat and they will put you onto the loyalty department.

Take bk's advice and call them up saying you want to cancel your account and they will put you through to the loyalty dept,I did and to keep me with them they reduced my TV package price and gave me a free digital+ box

If you change, do they lock you into another 12 month contract?

Yes unfortunately this does apply on the deal they offer you so if you really can see yourself leaving them say for TV and going to Sky a little bit down the line then I'd suggest not calling them up until you're definite about what you want to do i.e. leave UPC or not.
