Has anyone on here ever got a train from Hamburg to Sylt Island in the North East.

I am going to a wedding there later this year and just looking at travel options. As the regional airport there is very small, flights there are crazy expensive, so looking at alternative methods.

I know you can get a flight to Hamburg and then a connecting train to Sylt, but I cant find any fare information, so if anyone has done this, can you give me an indication of price?

I have searched all the usual places, the DB Bahn website etc but the prices are not available on this.

    Thanks,
    Tox

€31.20 Hamburg - Sylt was the price I found, haven't done the journey myself though, sure you can double chck with DB.

€31.20 (one way) sounds about right (all depends on day/time)

Enjoy Sylt, it's a nice wee island, jam packed with rich tourists during the summer, but a good spot for parties (don't forget to pay your health resort tax if you're heading to the beach)

As above. You can get the s-bahn directly from the airport (downstairs from arrivals) to the main train station (about 40 mins) and you can change over there to the train to Sylt. Book early as accommodation can be hard to get plus you should also book a rental car as the island is fairly big. Also check here before you leave as there are a lot of strikes on going at the moment with the train drivers. I know that the NOB drivers were on strike last weekend.
