is home oil heating expensive???

    Hi.

    we are going to move into a large 3 bedroom house, with home oil heating system. I have never had oil heating before, does it work out more expensive then gas?

    any advice would be helpful! thanks

    To give you an idea, have had oil in house since I bought about 8 years ago. If you look at price thread over the last 2 years for 1000 ltr

    It goes from 450 euro for 1,000 ltr 2 years ago to current price which is around 800-850 euro per 1,000 ltr. It does depend on how insulated your house is. I used to have to refill 2-3 times at least a year. Currently one fill of oil done me the whole of the last Winter season. This was after I put in all double glazing, insulated all the external walls etc and I still have a lot more to do in house to finish off the insulation.
