I have a 2010 13" Macbook Pro - I want to be able to output the display to my HDTV. What is the cable I need to do this?

    Many thanks,

Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, which you can get on the online Apple Store. Or a mini DisplayPort to HDMI, but they aren't made by Apple.

    HDMI rather than DVI surely?

Would a standard Mini DisplayPort to HMDI adapter connecting a Macbook Pro to a HDTV bring the sound across also or do I need an separate cable?

If so, is there any cable that brings across both picture and sound (it doesn't necessarily have to be HDMI either).

Basically, I want to watch the Sky Player (sports\movies\etc) on my big TV...so accompaning sound is important.

    Cheers :)

Not all HDTVs have HDMI. Some are DVI only.

Provided it is definitely a 2010 MBP, it will carry sound via a mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. Apple only started supporting this in 2010 models onward. Before that you had to carry the sound separately.

This is the bad boy you need...

Apple Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter cable by Neet® - ( VIDEO + AUDIO converter for Unibody MacBook - Pro - Air - iMac + PC with Mini DP etc. ) ***

Have one for my 2011 MacBook Pro and it's perfect... only thing you need to do is go into System Preferences and switch your audio output from Internal to [Make/Model of your TV]!
