Blackburn - Man Utd, Draw of convenience ?

This Saturday Blackburn play Utd. At the best of times given this seasons form a draw looks a good bet. When you look at the circumstances it looks even better. Utd need 1 point to clinch the league.

If Blackburn get a point they will be on 40 with a decent goal difference. It would be very difficult for Blackpool or Wigan to get either to 40 with better goal difference or to 42 points (41 impossible), 2 wins.

    15 Blackburn 36 -14 39
    16 Birmingham 36 -18 39
    17 Wolves 36 -21 37
    18 Blackpool 36 -22 36
    19 Wigan 36 -23 36
    20 West Ham 36 -23 33

Will be thinking about it anyway. No odds for the match on PP yet. Not suggesting the game will start with certain 0-0 but if there is 20 min left there may be little commitment to throw men forward from both sides.

i am not sure about a draw cos its always hard to be against united, but as you say i dont see too many goals in this game, i'll probably go for under 2.5 goals in a multiple bet

Surely utd will put out a reserve team considering they have the Champions League Final against Barcelona soon

    a united reserve team?
like the one that beat shalke 4-1?
making the squad for the final will
be on the uniteds players mind
i dont like the draw bet..
    god i hate united..

Hate everything about United. the players, manager and the fans but to say they would go out looking for a draw againest Blackburn is plain silly. Even United's second string would crush Blackburn.

i'd say the 4-1 was down to the motivations that the champions league gives you, which i dont really expect against blackburn
only worry is that blackburn are shocking at the back

    I'm not so sure OP.

There will be a massive feel good factor amongst the Utd team and they will be playing to be considered to be in the starting XI v Barcelona. Not only that, but some are playing to be in the squad for that game.

Saf will also insist that they go out and win to make sure. If it's 0-0 or 1-1 with 20 mins to go, there's a possibility Blackburn could nick it, being the home team, fighting for their lives and all.

If that was to happen, saf would be pretty annoyed as it would mean he could ill afford to rest players v Blackpool on the final day, which will be vital to Utd's CL chances.

In short, I wouldn't back against a Utd win but I can see where your coming from with both sides only needing a point and Utd only winning 5 PL away games all season.

Heard that alright. Utd could blow Blackburn away and go 2 up early on. My thoughts are really about the game still being a draw going into the last 20 when Utd are traditionally strong finishers to games, lots of late goals. Will Utd go for it though if its level in last 20 ?

Half time/Full time Utd is 8/5, could be worth a punt.

Ewood Park is where United lost the league last season. They'll win it there this season with a convincing win

the last 20 minutes of that game was disgraceful. a clear case of cheating..obvious collusion between both sides..neither team attempted to win the game of even play the ball into their opponents half..after man u scored. they wouldn't even close players down. not fair play nor in the spirit of the game...i want a f*cking refund.

    How was it cheating?

Neither team was obliged to win and were happy with a point a piece.
