I've had a Braun one for years. It's treated we well despite never ever bothering to clean it with the oils and stuff.

Should buy a safety razor instead, they seem better for avoiding skin irritation. They're also ten times more manly. *makes a manly grunt*

Facial Hair & Hats forum might be the place to find real expertise. :)

I shave with Fusion razors, and have never owned a decent electric shaver.

I've been telling myself for the last year and a half that I'd get one of these. Still haven't picked one out! :o Some day...

Never used the Gillette razors but the proper ones usually end up being less costly in the long run as the blades can be bought ridiculously cheap. A lot of people say they're better (less chance of ingrown hair, smoother shave etc.) but they take a fair bit of time getting used to.

Don't really see why this is in C&H, moved to facial hair and hats. You might get better answers there.

My skin can get fairly red so i need to keep that in mind when i buy.

    Avoid an electric then.

I'd suggest doing some reading on traditional wet shaving (it will save you money hugely long term, not to mention your face - real men do moisturise!!)

A useful guide to get going is here...

    Good luck...

They don't really. Just a few days. The main thing to remember is that you don't hold the razor down on your face and pull it along as you do with those plastic things that you are using which make some Americans even richer. With the "proper ones" you just lay the razor on your face and slide it along. It will take a few goes to get it perfect and you might like to watch some videos by this much nicer American. The light touch is the secret.
