    Hi,
Hubby wrote of Suzuki Grand Vitara last week in freak accident (lucky to have walked away from it)
Now that the shock of the accident has passed we need to start looking at a replacement.
The toss up at the moment is between another Grand Vitara (his was 2007 and 1.9L) or a Toyota Land Cruiser (3L)
What would be the general opinion out there? We know the road tax difference but would be looking at a commercial Land Cruiser - it's the running costs that are the issue.
Have been getting differing but largely positive reports on miles per gallon from some friends we know with Land Cruisers but no harm in throwing it out here for opinion.

The cruiser is pretty sparse on safety gear.
30mpg is about all you'll get.

Unless you're doing heavy towing or off roading then a 2.0 size like what he had is the right job.

What about a Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2? I get to drive one for work sometimes, and they're really nice! The regular guy who uses it says its a great yoke altogether too!

The best option is totally dependant on the use it will see. If its a load-lugger or going to be doing a good bit of towing then the Cruiser, if its not going to be doing much hard work then there's little justification for going beyond the Vitara.
