Is it for analogue reception ? You should get fair reception but no DTT here without a roof aerial. The analogue for RTE 1 and 2 is VHF and UHF for TV3 and TG4. If you want anything else you would need a dish.

Oh I dunno, depending on where the site is, you might get the DTT from Gallows Hill in Waterford, Mt Leinster or even Suir Valley.

I have a loft antenna in Tramore and have it pointed at Mount Leinster for DTT. I also have it sharing a down-cable with satellite with huge fall-off and still get reception on the PC. However, I am on the inland side of the hill that Tramore is built on, so I'm not sure that rabbits ears will be enough if you are in the lower part of the town. Will ask a friend in the lower part of town and post back.

It interesting that you get Mt Leinster as I had to give up on it, as it was cancelled out by Presely in any lift conditions. Though I live on the sea side of the town and high up. I use Suir Valley now which is the transmitter for this area according to COMREG. I tried an indoor aerial and got nada on any of the channels for DTT. It could be just a crap aerial!

I am pointing at Mt. Leinster, but my scans do have a very good look at channel 52!! They pause, but don't find anything. Must check and see what direction Suir Valley is in - It wasn't up and running when I did my install. I might get a stronger signal from there.

It's vertically polarised. I get 78% strenght and 100% quality, I only have a problem if Red Reuth is coming in on a lift which is not that often, compared to Presely.
