I couldn't find a recent superstars thread so I thought I would start one. I love this show, it filled the void WWECW left in my week.

Okay so this show is where the undercard get to wrestle. In many cases the matches are far better than any matches on RAW or even Smackdown.

I try to catch the show every week, I recommend it is watched using Sky Plus as it does recap moments from RAW.

So the top 3 reasons to catch this show are
    The wrestling
    Zack Ryder is normally on
    Chris Masters is often on

    This week
Match 1 saw Jey Uso take on Trent Barretta. Uso showed some nice aggression in this one and really caught the eye. Trent moves so fast.

Melina then took on Beth in a quality Divas match.

Then the WWWYKI guy took on Dolph Zigglers mini me

Theres another reason Why I love Superstars. The best announcer in WWE (apart from JR) is on the show in Scott Stanford.

The guy is so well researched and it also helps that he's a broski! :pac:

I actually hate when Josh mocks him for knowing things. Trent Barreta has really shone in the last few weeks.

The most interesting thing about this week's Superstars was that our Internet Champion can rally a crowd.

He should be carrying the belt around. Reminds me of Stevie Richards as the self-proclaimed General Manager of Heat.

Shame Kharma no-showed the Divas match. :(

That Ryder match was fantastic. And he did really get the crowd into it too.

I liked the match the week before last aswell with Ryder vs DH Smith. The finish is arguably wasted on Superstars.

Starts at 6:55 but you get the backend of a good Kidd/Barreta match at the start too.

Really enjoyed it. Both these guys could tear it up on SD with Sin Cara, Chavo, Gabril et al.

On and off for a few months now.

Have to wonder, does Vince watch Superstars? He has two Bigmen in Masters and Drew but WWE do nothing with them. Drew is pretty good on the mic and as we can see form this weeks show his in ring work has improved. Masters is so much better in the ring than during his first WWE run, performed great on Superstars for months now, but is never used on RAW/Smackdown. Its Bizarre.

Good to see Kidd v Barretta again, two super wrestlers entertainers.

Was another good show all round. Glad it's got back to the consistently good TV that it was last year around WrestleMania 26 (Goldust vs WHC Jericho for example). Hope it stays. What I want to know is why they waited until after WGN America ditched them to do it.

Kidd got a manager, Ryder and Hawkins are playing together again and McIntyre lost despite his damndest to take out Masters' leg. Storytelling! More, please.

Just watched Yoshi versus Tyson Kidd and am amazed that Kidd doesn't get on Raw or Smackdown.

His sharpshooter and superplex brought back memories of the old days.

Anyobe know why he isn't pushed?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,128 ✭✭✭drayme

Too small, too Canadian and Kevin Dunn just plain doesnt like how Tyson looks at him.

    Who knows with WWE.

I'd say that putting Michael Hayes as his manager could be the start of a new push, they will give it a few weeks on Superstars, and if it works well, could be on Smackdown soon enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,820 ✭✭✭grames_bond

    Well
Michael Hayes slapped him after his loss to yoshi so that could be the end of that

Michael Hayes wanted someone to bully, WWE Creative don't like Tyson Kidd, he could do what Ryder did though :D

I thought having Hayes there was absolutely ridiculous. The chemistry between those two was so bad it made Dibiase and Maryse look like Will and Kate.

Hayes was actually out of gas just walking down the ramp and was panting into his boring heel promo. I don't know who came up with this monstrosity of an idea but he needs to be off my TV pronto. At the end he laid out Kidd so this accomplished nothing except giving an ego stroke to an old codger. Freebird? More like a dodo at this point.

Prior to the WWE Smackdown taping tonight, the following was taped for this week's edition of WWE Superstars:

-Alicia Fox defeated Kaitlyn via pin fall after hitting the Axe Kick.

-Trent Baretta & The Usos defeated Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater and Tyson Kidd.

This week we got the return of Mason Ryan

    AND

    SHOWTIME Percy Watson.

A toned down version of Percy (No Glasses or crazy mannerisms) but nonetheless he still came across well.

The tag teams or Percy Titus and Hawkins Reks showed plenty of potential.

    Tamina took on A Fox

    Brodus had another squash match.

We also get Bryan v Slater - this was another class match from Bryan. Slater keeps on having good matches too. Great finish.

But where are the Usos gone?

Fast forward to 7.40 and tell me how they kept those outfits on.

Here is D Bryans match from last week.

Really great Superstars this week. A very good Yoshi/Kidd match and a quite excellent Morrison/McIntyre match.
