Saw a bright orange light

I'm new to astronomy, but I saw a bright red/orange light flying over Ennis at 23:26 to 23:27. If flew east to west north of my house. There was no noise and it appeared to be too low to be a sattelite. And I'm 100% sure it wasn't a plane, too bright and no flashing or even flickering. Am I right in thinking it was a meteor? It was pretty cool to see.:)

Turns out my dad noticed it also, he's certain it wasn't a Chinese lantern.

Gotta make me one of those some day too ;)

s'Funny, They all say that :D Especially the ones that have never seen one before. It definitely wasn't what I have never seen before, I know that much :D

    As Han Solo once said....
Kid, I've viewed from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* orange and floating through the sky that wasn't a Chinese Lantern. It's all a lot of simple Chinese Rice paper bags, tricks and nonsense.

I watched a ufo sightings "documentary" a few nights ago and i could not believe it, every single sighting for an hour was chinese lanterns. they were changing shape 3 or 4 of them people were baffled etc etc repeating the same 3 or 4 seconds of clip for ten minutes at a time. Producers defo knew what they were doing- what a con!

Maybe it really is alien spacecraft pretending to be chinese lanterns? Or chinese spy craft pretending to be chinese lanterns?

    I'll get my coat.

Saw one a while back and there was a scene with a bunch of people all oohing and aahing watching satellites passing over, with the "top" fella there saying he checked and only 4-5 sats pass over his location every night, so everything else was a UFO, also Iridium flares and satellites brightening up as they pass over, are actually aliens "powering up" to communicate with the watchers.
    Very amusing indeed. :D
