    Hey,

I know someone who needs a 4x4 picked up in Skibbereen and delivered to Longford.

The 4x4 is driving, but not really readworthy.
It needs to be picked up in the next few weeks.

Anyone got any cost effective ideas?

    Thanks

there's no tax, but it could be taxed if needs be.

It's pre 1980, so no test needed. Any ideas?

Put an ad on donedeal or somewhere like that, the dealer etc. You'll get someone with a recovery truck doing a run the opposite way. They'll be damn glad for a load to bring back. It'll be much cheaper for you and the recovery operator will not be wasting diesel on the trip back. win win.

people really need to think about these things before the do them....
The recovery truck thing could work alright.

How bad is it? Vintage tax if feck all anyway. Tax it and chance driving it up slowly?

If it's driving enough to go on a big tranporter, and the Cork and Longford locations are big enough for the transporter to turn around, get in touch with Crosbies. http://crosbietranscar.com/

Well, that limits your options to not driving it.

The cheapest would be for you to go down and get it yourself with a trailer. You'd need another 4x4 and an EB licence for towing.

The handiest would be as suggested above, ring around the recovery companies (you'll find them on donedeal. etc) and see if anybody can bring it up on an otherwise 'empty' run.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

I run a few lorries up and down the country lifting vehicles however I would need to be in the Cork area before I could collect your 4x4 as it wouldn't pay to go to Cork for it, but there is a few things you could do, you could list it on 50-50 Network.ie a site for Irish hauliers to get back loads and list it on Shiply a site for delivery companies.
And if I get a run down south in the next few days then I'd be more than happy to quote you a price and bring it up for you.:)

Some good ideas there. I never even knew about that 50/50 system. Ok keep me in mind and pm me if you've got a run.

    Thanks
