I have my Sony a100 4 years, but today the butttons on it won't work. All of the , shutter , menu button etc. I have tried taking the battery out and turning the camera on without the battery for one minute but that didn't work.

Any help PLEASE would be great!

    Thanks

    Hey,

Just wondering how does the shutter release button feel, is it jammed or does it feel 'sticky'?
I dont think it is the same fault but I had an A100 for repair that would meter and everything but most buttons didn't function and it was because the shutter release button was stuck in a half press (pre focus) state in which you can't change any settings or enter the menu.
The way it behaved was as if most buttons didn't work and made the fault look like something different to what it was so perhaps your fault is similar in nature.
Try checking every function and if any work be sure to mention it as it would help nail down the problem.

I do camera and lens repair so feel free to PM me if you are interested in having someone take a look at it.

Different camera, but all the same I had the same thing happen my D300. In my case the image preview button was stuck in a pressed state and was stopping everything else from functioning. A bit of messing with the button and all was good again. Maybe look for something similar on the A100 see if something similar is up?

    Tried it again this morning.

If I turn it on , still no joy however I discovered if i turn it off n on real fast I can get it to take pictures. And I can flick through the pictures and the menu button will work allowing me to change settings
