Doesn't really give away too much.
"There will be a microscope on the Deb [and] Dexter relationship this season. Over time you're going to see that relationship evolve and change, no questions about it. There's going to be some degree of getting back to his roots."

Despite the let down that was last season I am still really looking forward to this. When I think of the last season of Dexter I think Trinity, not Lumen!

Probably best to keep casting news to the one thread..
    MCHall_CHanks_300110509121310.jpg

Colin Hanks has landed a role most actors would kill for.

Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that the Good Guys star Mad Men alum is joining the cast of Dexter for a major Season 6 arc.

Like with most of the Showtime’s drama’s past guest stars (e.g. John Lithgow, Jimmy Smits), the specifics of Hanks’ role are being kept under insanely tight wraps. (His character description is not believed to be among the trio of new recurring roles producers released breakdowns for earlier this month.)

If Hanks turns out to be an adversary of Dex’s, it’s unlikely he’ll fit the mold of past baddies such as Trinity and the Ice Truck Killer, given what Showtime president David Nevins recently told TVLine about the show’s coming season. “It is not [about] one big bad,” he told us. “There’s one interesting story that will move through the season, and it will be cast very interestingly, but it’s not exactly that one person.”

... and Edward James Olmos. Olmos will play a brilliant, charismatic professor of religious studies.

    Religion...

Interesting. Looking forward to the new season since breakout kings is finished. La Guerta was in the Finale as a really cruel b!tch.

    Season 6 promo

Not really feeling it. This series has gotten very tedious and repetitive.

I actually laughed at that one, hopefully a sign of a bit more humour in the series

    speaking of more humour.

"Ricky Gervais to team with 'Dexter' producer for 'Afterlife'"
The Office meets Dexter? Yes! Ricky Gervais, the creator of The Office and Extras is teaming up with former Dexter showrunner, Clyde Phillips, for a new show called Afterlife, about an atheist who dies and goes to heaven.
They are writing the pilot episode now and plan to film in early 2012. Gervais will take a cameo role.
The plot has traces of Gervais’ The Inventing of Lying, the 2009 film that featured Gervais as a desperate underachiever who introduces the idea of God to a naive society where no one else has yet contemplated the notion of telling a falsehood

the first few episodes of season six will have to be pretty special or im pretty sure i'm just going to write the show off after that terrible fifth season.

YES. They seem to be incorporating the artsy killing stuff from Dexter by Design as well as the religious bits from one of the older books.

    Looks good!

I wonder if this will have all the evil spirit crap that the books apparently have. It might be actually be a nice change of pace because I can't be arsed watching another season where Dexter finds a new companion to confide in or goes head to head with another killer.

October 2.... Well, let's see if it's getting better. I'm very excited about the new season and I also hope there won't be any Lumens nor second rival killer.

    Trailers look good.

Dexter looks a lot more violent using hammers, yikes.

Dunno how the religious thing will play out. I bought the all the books, read the 1st 2, thought they were class, could not get into the 3rd one due to the demonic crap. I must try again.

Colin Hanks..............going around killing people?! Cant see that working or being believeable. Was very disappointed with Season 5, hope i wont be with season 6. again alot of guest stars which i dont think a show like Dexter needs. Unless the writers are struggling for ideas.......

Dexter star Michael C Hall is reportedly close to signing a new contract with the show.
The actor's current deal expires after the show's sixth season, which begins on October 2 on Showtime.

Hall is looking to receive a significant salary increase under the terms of his new contract, according to Variety.

Having been made an executive producer from the show's fourth season onwards, Hall is already entitled to profits from DVD sales, merchandising and foreign distribution, in addition to his regular salary.

It is currently unclear how many additional seasons of Dexter his new contract would cover.

The crime drama's executive producer Scott Buck recently revealed that he currently has no plans to end the series.

'No plans to end?' Pfff, come on. This show has jumped more sharks than Henry Winkler. At least let it die a dignified death.

Seems like the season premiere has leaked. Should be interesting to hear what people think of it.
