    Ok, meant to post this yesterday (when it was actually his birthday - he would have been 96), but post-work exhaustion delayed it. Incidentally, Sunday was also the 70th anniversary of the release of Citizen Kane.

    Anyways, I wrote a little article for the film blog Hope Lies at 24 Frames Per Second about his life after his most famous film. It's sad that such a superb filmmaker was almost totally overlooked for the bulk of his career. Here's one of the most amazing shots in cinema:

    The Third Man is always up there as one of my very favourite films. And The Magnificent Ambersons is up there too. Touch of Evil I found strange!
