    Hi,

I was wondering where bands could get cases made for their albums, possibly at an affordable price.

    Thanks.

    Depends, are you producing yourself?

    If so ebay:

    - Clear CD cases
    - CD-Rs
    - CD Label printing + software

    China/Hong Kong for the cheapest

I'm looking for actual cardboard cases for an album we are recording. One where the album art and tracklists would be printed at the back.

It really depends on what exactly you are looking for. If you are doing it yourself and are going to produce in high quantity then the above posters are right. If you are looking for a small amount then its best to go with one of the major cd companies. I have had good succes with Beyond Concepts cd duplication - but all of these companies do a good job these days.

I had some card wallets produced by Alpha Duplication & was very impressed with them. Most places only do litho so you have to have do at least 500+ to make it worthwhile. They digitally print & assemble them themselves so you can have smaller quantities if you need. The qualities as good as any I've seen. They do all the disc printing & duplication too if you need that doing.

There's a picture of the finished wallets they did for me here...

If its for an album, Id recommend not going the DIY route especially if you plan to send it anywhere or have it stocked by retailers.

If it is your first time doing this make sure you look at the difference between duplication and replication.

Any for albums most would go with either dual cases or digipaks.

(If its digipaks you are looking for you may need to order 500+)

I have used www.duplication.ie in the past and they are good.

Best of luck with the project,

    Cheers,
    Sean

Do you just want cardboard sleeves or more elaborate digipaks?

Digipaks are quite expensive and for small runs aren't really worth it.
