Bosco is Back

I saw and ad on TV3 for "Bring Back Bosco" it's on TV3 on Monday at 9.00pm, it might be worth a look for retro fans! It struck me that 9.00pm is quite late to be showing it but quickly realised that a younger audience wouldn't remember or appreciate Bosco!

According to the Sky planner this is a series about kids tv in Ireland. The blurb says:

"Series celebrating Irish children's television. Archive clips and interviews help to document the changes over the years in an unashamedly nostalgic but entertaining journey".

Sounds interesting,hope i'm not getting excited about nothing!

I wonder will they give a "behind the scenes" look at bosco's house? Like will they show the studio guys moving around his furniture, or will there be a commentary on it by bosco, like you see in all those extra bits on a DVD.

My son goes to St Marks Junior School in Springfield, Tallaght.
His teacher told me to watch it tonight, as part of it was filmed there.
So a heads up for anyone with kids in the junior school, Sky+ it.

The hairs were standing up on my arms at the footage from Fortycoats. I was always under the impression that no footage from it survived.

Really enjoyed that i have to say. Pity feckin' jedward had to be involved but they made up for it by including Dustin. I especially enjoyed his comparing Wanderly Wagon to Ryanair!:D

Surely to feck Fortycoats is new enough that ALL of it should have been kept? RTE have a surprising amount of archive material compared to other broadcasters even from the tape wiping era and Fortycoats was done in an era when tapes costs tens rather than hundreds of pounds.

It's good but 4:3 footage doesn't sit that well in a widescreen documentary.

Given that it's a programme chock-full of archive clips I think the whole thing should have been in fullscreen (4:3)
