I've a samsung N145 netbook which I just bought a week ago as a secondary carry around laptop.

I've noticed that during youtube clips the video is very choppy but the audio is fine.

I updated the audio drivers a few days ago as it was choppy during playback of movie files.

Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of the choppy video when i'm watching clips from the net on youtube etc..?

    thanks

Try it with a couple of different browsers, and update your Flash install as well - it may help with streaming video. For local video playback try VLC if you haven't already.

Memory is low enough on this netbook (1GB), i searched "netbook optimization windows 7" on google theres a load of good articles on how to get the most from your memory, for a start switching all visual themes to their most basic setting, killing background tasks etc

If you have a mate whos proficient in tinkering with pcs have a look at this, it will double your memory:

Make sure you are trying to play a low resolution clip instead of high-res.

Basic single-core Atom netbooks are crap for H.264 video, that's the reason they brought out netbooks with Nvidia Ion graphics.

Also consider a Broadcom Crystal HD video decoder card. Depending on whether you have a free mini-PCIE slot. There was a variant of the N145 that actually came with a Crystal HD so presumeably it does have an extra slot.

Update the video driver...since it's a video problem? Update the WLAN and NIC drivers...since it only happens with non local playback?
