I'm looking at buying an iphone 4 on adverts, the phone hasn't been activated yet.

I'm wondering if I will actually be able to activate the phone, or would I run into any difficulties?

Phone is apparently locked to three, and I would be using it with a 3pay microsim (so no problems there)

    thanks in advance!

If the seller won't actavate the iPhone walk away simple! You want to see it working before any money is handed over, there are loads on there for sale.

    Really?
Since it is new in the box, would I be able to activate it myself? With microsim and itunes? or does it have to be done by the network?

If it's unopened then you simply activate it with a 3 sim and iTunes.

This sounds dodgy who buys an iPhone 4 and never opens the box?

To activate a iPhone you need the carrier sim inserted and connected to iTunes

Just remember if it sounds too good to be it is! How much is the phone selling for?

    for?

The box was opened, but the phone hasn't been activated with sim and itunes.
I've said I'd activate it and check it before buying.
    Thanks for the help!

Good idea. I've heard many a tale of original boxes with dud /clone phones in them. Always activate it and check before buying. You wouldn't buy a car without starting it :)
