Can I make minor change to Planned Out-Building

I am building a "shed" or Multi-Functional Outbuilding.

    Comprising 5 Areas
    Fuel Store
    Laundry
    General Purpose Garden Shed
    Multi-Purpose Room
    Car-Port

I have the raft down exactly per original plans.

I have received some good advice from the contractors on several (minor I think) modifications to the plans and I am unsure if I can make these changes without breaching my planning permission.

    (1) Change Pitch of roof to improve angle for solar panels.
    (2) Remove 2 of the 7 doors on the original plans.
    (3) Change the size of 2 of the windows.

What changes can one make during a build without applying for new planning permission?

Is there a process for notifying the CC or discussing such changes with the council?

Note: The build is out in the country, where there will be no adjacent housing as the land is family owned, objections would never be an issue, so I would not be offending anyone. I am only concerned of the planning permission.

If the council consider the changes to be minor they can give you a letter of easement covering them. It would be usual to make the changes to a copy of the plans and go meet the planner and ask them. Your agent can do it for you if you don't want to meet the planner yourself.

I have been an Architectural Technician for nearly 10 years now and I have never seen a building going up where changes havent been made during construction. Thats everything from domestic garages and sheds to multi-million euro commercial developments.

Just make sure that the alterations are OK-ed by the planner before they are made on site.

    Thanks for the advice.

I will make a rough red-line to the plans and give the planner a call.

If they don't have a problem in principal I'll get my engineer to update the plans and call into the planner for a letter.

Do you know if there is a fee for the easement?

No, we get them free of charge. (although I know one planning authority tried to charge €50 for each letter it wrote out in cases like this)

Donegal coco charge for this. Its either €63 or €80 - I always get those figures mixed up :)
