MySpace 'Follow' replacing 'Add as Friend'? When did this happen?

    Apologies if I'm not quite up to speed here, but I've only just noticed this change. Does anyone know when this was brought in? Surely it couldn't have been that long ago, my reasoning being that when you go to 'Music' and the charts are displayed, it still gives the option to 'Friend' a band rather than 'Follow' them. And up until yesterday I was still approving friend requests...

    Just a quick 'addendum' to the above post - if MySpace has not already completely crumbled, it has now surely sealed its demise. Adding other musicians as friends rather than 'fanning' or 'following' them was the one thing I figured MySpace still had going for it. This 'Follow' button clearly shows how desperate they are to change tact, and to 'Follow' the trends of other SNs.
