    what is ssl cert - i may have to add paypal to a job im starting - do i need ssl - if so how do i get one and install it

    If you're using Paypal then you don't need the SSL, as they take the credit card details and the payment.

    If you're implementing your own payment solution, THEN you need the SSL.

    It's basically a mechanism that encrypts the credit card / bank details when the browser is transmitting them to the website - it shows up in the browser URL bar as "https://" instead of "http", and most browsers show a padlock somewhere too.
