I will be finished college next week and I have been looking for work for weeks and I didn't get anything yet. So the best option is to go for the dole the week after next.

Does anyone know what I need, like forms and proof of address, proof you're looking for work and anything else?

Its my first time applying and I dont have a clue. Any help would be appreciated as I dont want to be waiting weeks without something coming in.

ID (like a passport), birth cert, usual identification and proof of address stuff, but they wont ask for any proof of looking for work at the moment.
After you apply though, there'll be a waiting period before they give you anything so you should ask where to go to see your CWO (Community Welfare Officer) so you can get a temporary supplementary allowance while your waiting.

A few months down the line though (3 months for me, has been a year and nothing for a friend, seems to be random) they may send a form asking about proof of looking for work, so keep whatever proof you have handy.

You also need a letter from your college stating that you have completed your course. If you are <25 and living at home your parents income/capital etc will be taken into account for means testing that is assuming that you are only entitled to jobseekers allowance

You can download the form here www.welfare.ie and have it filled up before you go in.

What proof of address would they be looking for? The only thing i have got is a mobile broadband bill. Would that be enough?

Also where in cork city would i apply? Would anyone know that, anyone from cork?

    Thanks

If you are living in the city it will be Hanover St.... behind Reardens. A recent utility bill or bank statement is proof of address.

Broadband bill once its a recent one will suffice.
