I thought it was saturday and I didn't go to work. Had to come up with a lame excuse.

Has this ever happened to you literally woke up lad a lie on thinking thank God it's saturday was even thinking if I should make an excuse to get out of going to a friends B-day tonight (saturday night)
Wasn't till I walked down the town at lunch and bought the Times that I realised what was up.

Has this ever happened to you

No but I did have a dream last night that it was Monday and I though it was Sunday and didn't go to work - does that count?

Every Good Friday I wake up panicking thinking that I'm supposed to be at work though, can't get used to the fact that it's a day off over here

I do recall once way back when in school waking up thinking "Yes, it's saturday!" After a few moments luxuriating in bed I thought "No wait, it's friday! Still, not too bad, and still saturday to look forward to." About a minute of relaxing more, then it hit me that it was monday morning, cold and wet and windy and i was lateish for school. I still remember how depressing that was.
Though now my internal clock seems to be well calibrated. Except over Christmas, I never know what day it is.

never woken up and thought it was the wrong day, at least not while i was in school. over summer and such days lose meaning.

though last semester i had an exam, felt sick was thinking just get it over with and you have a few days off before the next one. got into the exam, got the paper thought WTF? got them mixed up and studied for the wrong exam. and seeing as i don't really go to class the study i do is pretty much all i know about a subject.

i ended up getting an E over all, after two years of doing that it's the first time i failed something, even then i can pass with compensation. still scared teh shite outta me.

Whatever his excuse is, he's got Monday to look forward to, and if it really is a lame one, the boss will nail his balls to the notice-board as soon as he sees him.

I went on a bender in the early 90s for about eight years. I don't think I ever forgot the day of the week.

I love these lazy Saturdays, not like that fake Saturday that nearly got me fired.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,267 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Nope enver happened me, but did make the mistake of getting up one night at about 3am and though it was 8 (still half asleep mis-read the time on the phone) and got dressed for work until a then GF told me what time it was. Stooooooooooopid moment.

Nope as in my last job I worked all weekends. I did however manage to come in at my regular weekday time of 5 wondering why the busses were messed up and it turned out to be a bank holiday and I should have been in at 11. Also I was excited one Saturday because there was a huge group going for the same 2 o'clock lunch and my hours had been changed from a 2 o clock start to 12 so I could go with them. Turned up AT 2, starving, and utterly convinced it was 12. Took people a few minutes to convince me- couldn't believe I got up and was on a bus at 1 o clock certain I would be in for 12...still at least I turned up both days.:D

I've never missed out on work when due to forgetting the day. But i have failed to notice months change until over a week in on a few occasions.

I have woken up on a Saturday morning, thinking it was Friday and got ready for work but copped on before I left the house and hopped back into the scratcher.

Something about being sick. Was all good though rang round rearranged some meetings and the IT guy installed a piece of software that let me teleconference using own PC for one that I couldn't rearrange. I was very sly about the main rescheduling too rang everyone to make sure they'd read a steering note and most of them hadn't.

Jaysis. I saw the thread title and had to think for a second whether it's Friday or not.

    It's not .. right?

Can remember, back in the day, waking up for secondary school one morning. Little bit late and tired I got up and was putting on my uniform when I realised that not only did I not have school that day, but that it was the first day of the summer holidays.

That's a long time ago but I still remember the joy! :)
