    Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop and a 32" LCD that i bought Christmas last year.
The laptop has a VGA connector and i purchased one to be able to watch movies through the laptop on the tv.
Everything went fine at first and then suddenly the tv wouldnt detect the laptop.
I bought a 2nd VGA cable and it didnt solve the matter.
I tried connecting my laptop to a PC Moniter and it wouldnt detect the laptop.
I then tried my girlfriends laptop on the VGA cable and that worked perfectly.
I then re-installed vista onto my laptop and it solved alot of problems except this one.
My graphics card is N-Vidia and I have gone onto it to use clone view when the VGA cable is connected.
I have also gone into my display settings and messed around with that but again nothing has happened.
I have tried pretty much everything and cant seem to find a solution.
Its really recking my head as I cant see films through my tv and have to look at them on my laptop.
Does anyone have any solutions that can help me?
    Thanks

Try pressing the FN key + CRT/LCD or whatever monitor key is on your particular laptop to cycle through the various options.

i've done that and it still doesnt work!
When I connect the VGA cable it automatically goes to the two moniter system but just doesnt show on the tv
