02 Mazda 6 1.8ltr Petrol, 80,000 On Clock - Comfort Model- Opinions Please

    NCT till 2012

    Hi All,

There's a car with the above spec and good condition going for 2k.

Any comments regarding relaibility or something i should look out for when looking at it. Would 2k be a good price.

Have heard its not great on juice i.e. average 30-35mpg but could live with that if it ran trouble free for the next two years.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

That's a good price. Decent reliable car, albeit a bit bland. 30-35 MPG is the very best you could hope for in any petrol car of this size, tbh.

Sounds fine to me. I'd love a 6.

am i right in saying the engine has a timing chain so the Timing belt question would not be an issue????

plus i heard these Maza engines can go on for 200k no problem according to reports

They are actually very nice to drive and only outdone by the Mondeo in the handling department.

OP, comfort spec is the basic model but if the car is sound then €2k is a decent price to pay for one. 80k miles is low enough mileage too for a 9 year old one, if it has been looked after then very little goes wrong with the petrol models. 30-35 mpg is good from a 1.8 litre petrol car the size of the 6.
