3rd party garage that could fix this

    Hi Guys

I have a Scenic 04 1.5 dci and I just want to ask a question if any of you knows a good place for the following repairs.

    1) flickering dashboard - it is a common problem on 04 Scenic. There are to solutions to this. First is replacemening a dashboard at renault service for 110 euros. Second, is much chepaer and requires someone who basically would know where to look at and knows how to solder

    2) other issue is an engine fault code DF053 (dtc 0089) which points to rail pressure regulation function. Renault wants 96 euros just for diagnosis and gives no warranty in case that part they fixed/replace is actually nor reponsible for the fault code. I'm not going to complain to much about this as servicing is a sure 'deal' for every car owner, but I'd like to know at least if there are 3rd party garages that could do it for less

I'm living in Dublin so looking at Dublin area

Thanks in advance for any help

Form some internet reading - check for metal fragments in your fuel filter. If present they may suggest your HP pump is knackered.

Posting in this thread may mean that I'm looking for DIY instructions, but in fact that's not the case. I'm rather hoping that because of your DIY knowledge someone can point me towards a person that is capable of fixing at least the dashboard problem cheaper than Renault people (who actually replace the dash which results in resetting mileage to 0).

Thanks for info on the fuel filter - this is the thing I'm willing to check at first. I'm just looking for a person or garage that can go through the whole diagnose/repair in a bit better way than Renault would. I have a feeling that doing it at Renault would be too 'formal' - I mean, it would be done by the book without putting much thought into it which in the end may end up in few visists at their garage and high costs
