The rumour also is Sabbatini is only playing this week because he has appealed a 30 day ban that will see him miss key tourneys leading up to the US Open which he has yet not qualified for including The Players and two events in his adopted home state of Texas straight after the players, The Crown Plazza and The Byron Nelson.

Sabbo, O'Hair Cat Fight Is Over Slow Play!
Considering that Sean O'Hair is a turtle and Rory Sabbatini is a rabbit, I'm not surprised by the revelation in Alex Miceli's look at the man-spat that broke out between the two PGA Tour giants.

According to sources, Sabbatini spent much of last Thursday and Friday complaining about the speed of play. Eventually he asked O’Hair directly if he thought the speed of play was a problem and reportedly O’Hair said the problem was Sabbatini. Sources said O’Hair told Sabbatini that playing in a group with Sabbatini, a known speed-of-play advocate, was equal to a two-shot penalty for his playing competitors.

Steve Elling quotes Sabbatini after Wednesday's pro-am round, and he is playing dumb.

Pointedly asked after the pro-am if he was facing a suspension or under scrutiny, Sabbatini was equal parts defiant and testy.

"No, that is just all rumor, bud," he said. "You are going based on a rumor. How many times do I have to tell you?"

Pat Perez, the third player in the group in New Orleans, on Wednesday repeatedly declined to describe the altercation, which took place in a tee box during the second round.

"I am not going to be the guy on the front page," Perez said Wednesday at the tournament site. "It's for us to sort out."

I remember Sabbatini being in controversy a few years back playing with speedy gonzales Ben Crane.
His wife even joined in the criticism of Crane.Fiery lad Sabbatini.:)

Apparently there is some history here going back to an event in Louisiana last year when Sabbatini beat up on a 16 year kid who was a marker for a group which included both of them. O'Hair (rightly imo) tore into Sabbatini who had to apologise later.....Sabbatini is regularly featured as 'the player other players dislike most'......and his past seems to have caught up with him.

Ben Crane is a disgrace. You wouldn't mind if the slow tactics were winning him tournaments. I feel sorry for any golfer paired with him.

I am no fan of slow golfers, quite the opposite in fact but yer man Sabbatini is a lout. Would be good to see some real discipline handed out to he and the slow players.

Firstly i'd like to say in my opinion Sabbatini is a w**ker.

Secondly i'd like to question how people can come on here and pass judgement on who is a fast player or who is a slow player based on anything other than heresay. You only see them on TV when they're taking their shot or lining up a putt.

I think that any pro player playing on the main tours goes out in the morning assuming that the round is going to take around 5 hours and lets face it 90% of these players are slow and methodical. You have to be when the stakes are so high. For instance, any player with a pitch inside 90 yards is going to take a trek up to the green to sus out the situation. Similarly when lining up a putt, they are going to take an extra few moments to ensure the right line is being taken.

Sabbatini has always annoyed me with his manufactured southern accent and cowboy hats. Ya, a real renegade, gimme a break!

The only reason he generates these arguments is to massage his own ego. Crane and O'Hair may be a little on the slow side but this is no reason for Sabbatini to go on like he does. Where is he off to anyway? What's his rush? Maybe his sideline as a rodeo clown pays more than his PGA tour card does?
