If you had the choice of choosing 20 teams to compete in the Premier League, who would you pick?

    Mine would be:

    Arsenal
    Aston Villa
    Blackburn Rovers
    Chelsea
    Derby County
    Everton
    Leeds United
    Leicester City
    Liverpool
    Manchester City
    Manchester United
    Newcastle
    Norwich City
    Nottingham Forest
    Preston North End
    QPR
    Sheffield United
    Sheffield Wednesday
    Sunderland
    Tottenham Hotspur

There's a few sides I've had to leave out that I'm sure a lot will say I should have included (such as West Ham United, West Brom and Wolves) but I've tried to go for a good mix of history, tradition and a few decent derbies too!

It's a lot harder to pick just 20 than I thought it would be.

Severe Lack of Bolton, Southampton and West Ham would switch out Derby/PNE/QPR for the above trio

    Arsenal
    Aston Villa
    Chelsea
    Derby County
    Everton
    Huddersfield Town
    Leeds United

    Liverpool
    Manchester City
    Manchester Utd :p
    Newcastle Utd
    Norwich City
    Nottingham Forest
    Preston North End
    Sheffield Wednesday
    Sunderland

    Liverpool + 19 conference teams.

Should be in with a chance of the title then :)

Would be nice to see Crawley in the CL too !

I'd imagine the missus would like the idea of a holiday to the glamour games and going to the warmer cities but she wont like the away trip to the Ukraine in December :P

I can onlyassume you don't know much about London because the two best behaved sets of Fans come from North London West Ham, Chelsea and Millwall all have much more issues with fans.

More for nostalgia reasons but now that i think about it, i think i would have Bolton ahead of them if they did not live up to the old Wimbledon

    Fair enough.

I thought your post was in part an expression of disgust at the aberration that is the MK Dons.

I don't think anyone would argue with Arsenal, Spurs, United, City, Everton, Liverpool or Aston Villa (7 in all).

    My other 13 would be:

West Ham (surprised anyone would leave them out really)
    Newcastle
    Leicester
    Huddersfield
    Wolves
    Norwich
    Cardiff
    Nottingham Forest
    Ipswich
    Coventry City
    Sheffield Wednesday
    Southampton
    Middlesboro

I'd have the Trevor-Sinclair-volleying, pre-millionaire-owners era QPR and the real Wimbledon in a heartbeat but both of those clubs are gone, alas. I'd also love to have a Burnley/Swindon/Oldham in there but can't quite figure out who to ditch.

Sunderland and Fulham are probably my most high-profile absentees. I actually quite like Sunderland but they've gone down too many times to make it into my ultimate PL. That's probably harsh in a thread started by a Sunderland fan but there you go...

I'd put Sheffield Wednesday back in there. I remember watching waddle playin for them when rte used to show matches on the Saturday.

Can't believe both Sheffield teams will be playin league 1 next season.
