Has anyone run this race before?

    http://www.kildare.ie/community/easysitesWP/stcocas/?page_id=793

If so, how was it and whats the course like etc.?

Thanks. Plan to race this weekend and a 5k might suit me better than Dunsaughlin.

Ok funnily enough I live in Kilcock and I can tell you bout this route if it's the one I think it is.

For the most part it's relatively flat. There is one mid sized slope when you are going up to the flyover depending on which direction they start this from. and when you are running from the train station back to the athletics club there is a gradual incline here too...

The road underfoot for the most part is ok but there are a couple of dodgy parts (In my opinion anyway). All in all, I think it's a good route.

I would urge you all to do this because St. Coca's is a great athletic club and does a lot of good things in the Kilcock community. Has a sizeable underage training system which has produced a few National athletes in recent years. (Might just use this race to highlight my intentions to join the club again ;))

If anyone needs more info jus holler and I can go into more detail bout the route.

So will many of you guys be running this? Forgot that it was on like the evening before Dunshaughlin!

Again, I just wanted to say that this is my local club. They are very good at training the youth coming through the ranks at the moment and there are some really good athletes coming through. If you can run this race please support this club!

    Thks

Very very well organized race! 10euro entry, chip timing, zero queues for registration, lovely smooth flat fast course (even despite the rain!), and all the food you can eat afterwards! Well done to St Cocas!

14sec pb for me also, happy out with that also!

Great race last night, well done St Coca's on a very well organised evening. Think i undid all the good with the impressive feed after it:D. The results are up on their website now, does anyone else notice a difference in the time they thought to the chip time? The chip time had me 9 seconds faster than my watch had me. A few other people that were with me thought the same. And thanks to the club for mentioning the 5KM race on the outskirts of Navan organised by South O'Hanlon AC on Wednesday week before the prize giving. Much appreciated..

Yep, my finish time seems to be 10 seconds fast. Also, one runner who finished behind me appears in front of me in the order list (though we finished in the same second). Great race. Would've given it 5 stars except I reg'ed on the day and had to pay €15 instead of €10. Sure, it's my own fault, but a 50% increase is a bit steep. Cracking race, and great food spread afterwards, with lots of parking. Two thumbs up for me.. Well done to the organizers.
