France/Corsica - prepay sim cards - urgent!

I'm going to Corsica tomorrow and, as meteor data charges in roaming are _unacceptable_, I want to buy 2 pay-as-you-go sim cards in France. I'd like to have free calls or text messages in the same network and a reasonable data allowance. If that's not possible what's the best option? I'll be there for 2 weeks.

I need some advice/help as I can't speak French and operators like Orange/SFR/Bouygues Télécom don't have any info in English on their web pages.

Meteor has abolished roaming charges in many European countries including France.

Check here for more details http://www.meteor.ie/do_more/roaming/euro_rates/

Thanks! That looks good enough - I'll have to survive without data :D

Orange have prepay sims. The SIM + €5 credit will cost €7 then you can top up by up to €100 at a time.

I wouldn't worry about lack of French, if you're really desperate for data use, just go into a store. My experience is that staff in most mobile stores speak English and they definitely understand "Prepay"! Most words in mobile telephony are shared in English and French, "Sans engagement" is without contract.

its quite easy with orange to get a prepay sim card, bring along your passport for ID, got one today €19.90 for sim and a €10 euro recharge.

so i had €15 in total credit, its easy to to top up just type in

#123# and press call, and then you can do the top up via menus. and call 888 for voicemail, which is free too...

with the top up above my sim will stay active until Dec 7 2011... so about six months....
