friend of mine is heading to korea and then onto hong kong in the next few weeks for a holiday.
how much cheaper (if at all)is an iphone 4 or ipad in HK?
is there obvious distinction in shops selling iphones between clones and the real thing?
also,if the phone is sim free, there shouldnt be a problem using it here?
oh,and would the apple warranty apply to it just the same as anywhere else?

    http://store.apple.com/hk

    This will give the prices.

Also watch out, there are a lot of fakes in the far east. You should be able to know by the build quality.

Also check if what you are looking for is released in that country as there are a lot of grey imports sold at a higher price.

I was in Singapore recently before the iPad was launched and any shop selling it had it for about double the price.

Probably not worth it for what you would save.

you might save 20% but there would be issues with customs and possibly warranty.

    The korean store (south)

This will give the prices there. Was in South Korea recently and they had good availability.

They won't sell you a 3G version as I think it comes with a phone contract.

From what I remember there was good savings on the Korean price.

It was on sale in a good few places, phone shops and apple premium resellers.

It might be more available in Korea and if you buy it in a phone shop / apple reseller it should be an original.

A lot of the places selling it in Korea don't have great english.
