What would you think if one of your lecturers was copying/pasting from wikipedia and or other sites (without reference), in light of the fact its frowned upon for students, hypothetically.

I call them out on it, but only if they state "You cannot so much as touch Wikipedia in my class".

They all know we get our sources from the bottom of the Wikipedia page :p

This happened to my calss with a psycholopgy lecturer some of the College Street classes in the CPA had... This guy didn't have the best teaching methods, it has to be said. The night before the exam someone looked up a quote from his notes online and after some supplementary investigation it turns out he lifted hios whole course verbatim from some American Psychology 101 website and stuck his name on the document.

We never got to call him out on it though, as the poor lad passed away over the summer! Wonder how long he was getting away with it?!

I'm going into 2nd year SSD & last year we had a lecturer in semester 1 who used to copy & paste everything from the internet, turn up late & leave early at nearly every lecture and regularly miss classes without letting anyone know she would be out. I had a cousin doing a similar course a few years back & he had a similar experience with her, he once asked her for help with a java program & she laughed & told him to "look it up in google". Most of our class have spoken to the class rep about her & he said other class reps have had the same reactions from other students about her. If we have her next year we are going to all sign a petition as we don't want an incompetent lecturer 'teaching' us.

i thought she was great. 20 minute lecture > 45 minute lecture. :D

Was it you or Anthony that told me that someone in multimedia said that her Java continuous assessment exam was copied & pasted straight from the 1st Google search result that came up when the title was typed in. That woman shouldn't be left near a classroom. Obviously all the other lecturers know about her laziness, but nothing seems to be done about it. We have some great lecturers such as Brendan, Mary & David & I hope we have them next year also rather than the likes of this woman. I've met a lot of people who I know who done computer courses in WIT in the last few years & not one of them had a good word to say about her. If you get a job that reflects the quality of your lectures, then after her €20000 !> €45000.
