Just catching up with all the Vincent Browne replies
I must say it was actually like watching the Vincent Browne Show which I now believe the should call the Blame Game

    No green shoots you say

Exports are at a 4 year high .
We are now more competitive than what we ever where
Exports are exceding imports by 4 billion per month is this not a green shoot

The euro is cheap might not be good for imports great for exports
Should be good for tourism and farming and export companies
    Another green shoot

Great opportunities are available for the property investors who are cash friendly Up to 70% discounts on property which pushes up yields
    Another green shoot

A lot of talk about cloud computing which i know little about but apparently has huge potential

I am too tired to go on but if anyone else would like to add to the green shoots please do so But please no more negativity just positive points on the economy:):):):):)

There are incredible opportunities out there and with mass/cheap/efficient/social communications everything is on the up for small business now. But anyone in debt will struggle for while. The people with real trouble are the squeezed middle, people with mortgages they'll never pay off and credit card debt that will ruin their ability to borrow or take chances. despite the media portrayal of how tough it is for graduates, the amount of opportunities out their for young free debtless clever individuals is immense, if only the old people with no imagination or creativity would stop bringing us down and telling us we have to emigrate. Life is good and Ireland will doubless be booming in ten years. But the euro will likely contract into the core and we will have serous trouble in the interim adjusting to the new credit system, whatever that is (euro-B, sterling, dollar, punt-mark-II). Life is good though. Strife and turmoil brings out the best in the human spirit and we haven't seen the bottom yet, which means we haven't seen the best of the Irish spirit yet either:)

VB is an idiot journalist that has never made a dime off his own bacj in his long life, wouldn't listen to champaign socialist tossers in the media. They don't know how to provide real services and are therefore morally and intellectually impotent and void.

There are green shoots but they are not found in statistics on exports. They are found in the emotional and intellectual freedom of individuals, with creative and enduring spirit. Business is all about providing people with what they want in the long term, and as long as we regain our moral and social spirit Ireland inc. will come out in the black very soon.

I agree with you on this one....especially about the older people talking down things they don't understand like Technology.
Imagine if the Civil Service were able to get rid of everyone over 45.....and force everyone to brush up on their PC Skills.....that would make it a lot more efficient than it is now.
Incredible Opprotunities out there now in a lot of fields.
People want value for money now more than ever.

Vinnie B is like a T-Rex at this stage and amazes me how someone so forgetful and diddery can be given a TV Show.
He objects to everything and his show is his take on Paxman's style...confrontational.

Can get repeditive.....especially when he has these economists on talking about debts of 50billion etc etc
