I drive a 06 opel astra gtc. The radio is the normal one and doesnt have bluetooth, usb.

I was told that there might be a aux port in the back of the radio. Can anyone confirm.

If not can anyone recommend the best way to connect so that the phone charges, plays music through speakers and can answer phonecalls(maybe)

i have a windscreen mount that i use.im not gone on things that charge the iphone as soon as its connected so i use the windscreen mount and have a seperate car charger.

with an aux input all it will do is play the audio from your phone (like you were listening using headphones) via the car speakers, you'll still have a wire connecting the phone and the aux port, using the aux port doesnt make it handsfree (as far as i know)
for the iphone to work with your car stereo by blutooth you need a specific car stereo, not just a blutooth compatible one, theres a specific kind,ad2p or something or other is what you need.

Use this http://www.phonesonline.ie/Product.asp?ProductID=749 and a seperate cigarette charger for when you actually need the charge

    Ya,just buy a windscreen mount!
One quick swipe and you can answer the phone & use it handsfree!
You can still play your music through the phone and through the car stereo with the aux input.

Then you need to buy one, probably €200 or so for a radio with blutooth.
Not sure how much the AD2P type is (i THINK thats what its called) It will be a bit dearer.

just get a blue tooth kit.

I have a parrot 9200 in both the cars and they integrate perfectly with the steros, no aux cables requires, but if they are needed they are usually around €20.

no stero changes and all remains origional

    Hey OP.
I got one of these and it works great
    http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-sony-mex-bt3900u_p-26943.htm

Bluetooth for music and calls works well and I only really use USB when it needs a charge.
Mines the 3800 but the 3900 seems to be a direct replacement.
That shop were fast to deliver and reasonably priced too.

Might be an option for you.

I just sold my old Sony radio which would have been perfect for the car. I'm keeping the default radio that is in the car and want to try and get handsfree and music working
