    Hi guys :)

I might be going to work for HP in leixlip soon and I was just wondering if any of you could tell me what the work culture / workplace/ people are like? As it is so big and I will be moving from a closeknit friendly flexible working enironment I am just a bit anxious about my next place of work. My role would be in IT.
    Thanks

Which division? Consulting, Managed Services, Sales, Print????

Worked there in Consulting and it was great fun.

    Hi :)

It would be in DIMO as a developer.

    Thanks

    LJD10,

I’m working in DIMO at the moment. Is it Factory Systems or Web Services Dev you going to? Either one you’ll be part of the engineering groups so the work hours are flexible. The place is really friendly and most of the IT teams are small enough so you’ll get the close knit thing quite quick.

One bit of advice, and the only time the big part comes into play, keep an eye on your team when you’re heading to the canteen to see where they sit at lunch. Nothing worse than first week, standing in the centre of the big canteen going “**** where is someone I know?” :o

PM me and I’ll give you more specific info.

PM: Also we definitely have an 'Irish' approach to American corporate culture so don't worry about that in the transition to the bigger workplace. :D

Can anyone advise on the facilities available to employees at HP leixlip? Particularly whether there is a nursery / creche!

Nope no creche onsite - not aware of what's around the local area.

    The rest is fairly standard for large multinational companies;
Banks: AIB & BOI onsite. cashless transactions only. ATM's available.
Gym: 24hr gym free to employees, I think contractors pay a nominal fee for the year (~€40)
Canteen: Large canteen with 4 separate counters with hot food along with sandwich & salad bar.
Parking: Large free car parking, more than enough for everybody working here.
Transport: Dublin bus 66B stopped outside the site. Alternatively there is a free shuttle bus which meets most trains from Louisa Bridge & Hazel-hatch.
Experience Centre: Due the large printing business presence here, there is a free facility for Hp employees to print their photos, posters, photobooks & use Hp products. Not sure of situation for contractors on this one? Some limitations apply (ie you can't print 20 photobooks in a week but pretty much as many photos as you want)

Then some other one, onsite nurse & OH. Physio comes onsite by appointment.

Can't think of other off the top of my head but hope this is some help.

I also work in DIMO as a Developer. Love and I work on a small team. I have no complaints what so ever.
