Me and a few of the lads are planning a lads weekend to Inis Oirr in June, Camping, Drinking, etc. Has anyone got any suggestions on things for 16 YO's to do on the island. Also whats the night life like, camping sites, whats the chances of getting served in pubs considering were underage. Also is there many guards as we intend on misbehaving in a big way :D. Also whats the ferry like?

    Thanks!

Tread carefully, I don't think boards.ie should be encouraging people to break the law!

It's a long time since I've been on Inis Oirr, but you'll be there at the peak of tourist season so if, at least, you don't get served booze, you can enjoy great trad sessions in Tig Ned beside one of the hostels on the seafront.

I was there this weekend and one of the locals had read this thread and wasn't too happy about it. Wouldn't plan on "misbehaving in a bad way" - it's a lovely, unspoiled place. There's no need to completely act the b*****ks!

As regards the ferry. The one from Rosaveel is supposed to be ok. The one from Doolin is a pretty rough crossing - lots of people getting sea sick.

The campsite is a really short walk from the pier, right behind the beach. There are toilets and shower facilities there. We weren't sure what the story was about paying... then, as we were leaving, some lad cycled over and took a tenner off us.

There's usually some good music on in the pubs from what I hear. Also, it may be nice to take a wander over to the shipwreck (it's the one from the opening credits of Fr. Ted) and have a look at the castle. Apart from that, enjoy the beach, scenery, music and craic!
