Hey guys,

a while ago I started a thread about looking for volunteer opportunities in Buddhist temples, and it was great to get a reply on that, but I don't think I articulated very well, what it is that I would like to do.

Basically I would love to spend some time in studying and practising Buddhism, in a monastery, or somewhere like that. Does anyone know if it is possible to just show up at a monastery and train as a monasitc for a few years, or are there other short-term options available; are there particular temples/monasteries/etc. that are more suitable to english speaking people; has anoyne else done this, or know anyone who has?

any info whatsoever would be greatly welcome.
