Ok, I'll just say something first. I haven't been using many different kicks - more or less 4 different kick samples but recently I've discovered something. Though I haven't built a track doing this. Instead of spending hours trying to tweak your kick. Get lots of sample packs and try switching in different kicks - a large enough sample collection and you'll get the right kick very quickly.

For trance there a lots of really good sample packs given away for free. Lots of them don't really cost very much.
