    Driving. Which is better, direct to Kilkenny and on, or take N80 to Carlow and join the M9?

    personally I'd say timewise it's the same, but the road from after stradbally to Kilkenny is slow moving, you'll do Portlaoise to Carlow in 40minutes and then another 50 mins ish from Carlow to Waterford on the M9.

    Portlaoise to KK is about 45 minutes , and then another 35ish minutes from KK to Waterford on the M9.

    much of a muchness really.
