Right. I've had enough of Facebook. It's gotten to the stage where it's of no use at all, just moron 'friends' gassing on about their breakfast or their kids or something.

And I know I can ignore people or shouldn't have accepted their friendship request etc, but I've developed a hatred of the site at this stage.

Any suggestions for another social network site?

Is it not more of a case that it's your friends instead of Facebook that are annoying you?

Facebook's only as good as the friends you have on it. If they're not your friends in the real sense of the word and they annoy you, just delete them.

You're spot on, I just haven't got the guts to disconnect. Most of the annoying ones are family.

Tell everyone your sick of facebook and deleting your account. Then unfriend all the annoying people and change the name of the account. They'll never find ya.

+1 on FB Purity, calms the place down a lot. You can also set it to block the endless stream of Youtube videos some people seem intent on posting.

I'm also waiting for Diaspora to get into Beta so I can sign up.

I have a diaspora account and judging by the amount of work they have done in the time since they got funding and got started properly it is going ot be an absolute failure

It is a good idea but right now the product is basically a rebranded version of another open source social media application. It is super slow, super under featured and super complicated to install and use (their idea for pods and all that is good it just makes it too complicated for the average user)

I won't judge them until they do release a product but what they have done so far is extremely disappointing
