    Sorry if posted before but when i open an old document in word the date changes to today date is there any way of keeping the original date. Many thanks in advance

    To see when the doc was created...

    Open Doc.
    ctrl-click the date.
    Select Toggle Field Codes.
    Replace the word DATE with CREATEDATE.
    ctrl-click and Update Field.
    Voilà! (works on Word v.X on my old powerbook, shouldn't be radically different for your more modern version).
