Glee is coming to theaters — in 3-D.
The producers of the Fox hit plan to release Glee Live! 3D!, a film of the Glee concert tour. The film will have a two-week run starting Aug. 12.
“This tour was all about going out and performing for our amazing fans who have supported our show from the beginning, but due to the limited time we had to travel during our hiatus, there were only so many cities we could get to before we had to resume work on the television series,” said creator Ryan Murphy, who will also produce the film. “We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate ‘Gleek’ a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”
Kevin Tancharoen (Fame, Mortal Kombat: Legacy) will direct the film, which will include musical numbers such as “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Raise Your Glass,” “Teenage Dream,” and “Lucky,” as well as “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

:D huge flop....but wait, here comes Ryan Murphy giving hundreads of interviews spinning his web, ooh sure it only cost 10 million to make and we'll have the DVD/Blu-ray out for Xmas, so we'll make a profit

Ryan Murphy can't handle failure. [edit] - he's at it already: "No matter what it will be a money maker for Fox. I am proud of it."

Ah!....tons of commentators note the "glee gay agenda":

"It pushes the gay agenda on kids far too young to be making decisions about their “sexuality”."

Even though I attended (and thoroughly enjoyed) one of the live performances in Dublin, when I first heard about the making of this movie, I cynically thought to myself "they're gonna milk this for all its worth because they know its not gonna last much longer".

Does anyone even remember "High School Musical" now? ;)

Now, its possible I may end up eating my words, but somehow I can't see a Seasons 4 or beyond for Glee.

I'm sorry I didnt wait for the bloody film instead going to the live show in Dublin waste of money

This was RUBBISH. Went to see it last night, and I really am getting tired of so much Glee. I love the show, don't get me wrong, but it's like Ryan Murphy is just a complete media whore and just will not shut the hell up.

Some of the 3D was cool, and it was good getting 'up close' to the performances, but other than that... there was NO Diana, pretty much (which was PANTS) and it bugged me that the few interviews there were with the cast backstage were all done in character. Really irritating.

It also made me realise how much I HATE Blaine and the Warblers.

I was really disappointed in the concert in Dublin, and I was really disappointed in this. I'll happily watch the show and listen to the music on my ipod, but I'm getting bored of all the crap we're subjected to around the show.

Its gone from a TV show to a media driven thing - the constant shows featuring one band or artist.

Heard that it didn't go well - so not gonna bother going to it tbh
