Could anyone recommened a stove that could heat up 15-20 rads (I have 18 rads, plus 4 towel rads in the house).

Would prefer a stanley, but the erin heats up to 9 rads and the reginald up to 12. I know that they probably can heat more, but would like to get one that i know will do the trick.

Would like something that is a good, effiicent model

You should consider a stove with a low output to the room and a large output to the boiler such as a **********. You will need some load of coal I would think to power that amount of rads

I'll send a PM to OP but we installed a multifuel stove with 100,000BTU ratinig. It doesn't take as much fuel as you would think... we light a fire most evenings over the winter and burned 8 40kg of good coal and about 3 ton of split timber, the oil was only on for 20 minutes in the evening.. Actually for the past 12 months we only burned 1000l oil along with that solid fuel..

Try a *******************, 78,000 BTU's to water. or you could consider zoning your heating system (grants availible), this will save you heating all your 18 rads at the same time and leave you open to look at a smaller lesser output stoves stove

Brian, read the charter, and read THE THREAD !!!!

The plan is to get a smaller stove that can heat 12 rads. We will have 2 zones (upstairs & downstairs) and we can switch between the 2 zones.

I got a wrap on the knuckles for saying a brand name but the stoves you named should be good enough to what you want. Do not only consider price when you are looking, look into the history of the manufacturer ie, will they be around to offer a grate, firebrick in years to come??

Better get a heating engineer in. Why do you want a stove to heat rads? It's the rooms which propably demand thermal energy. Well, usually.
