I had a quick look around but couldnt find anything.
Does anyone know if planning is needed for a window in the side of a semi detached house in the upstairs landing/bathroom area. It's about 2mt from neighbours wall. I'm in Wicklow. Thanks. And if planning is involved what kind of costs are involved . Thanks

Planning is required, as its not cover in the exemptions.
    Costs are minimal.
A council might be willing to let this slide with a section 5 declaration as its quite trivial.

first floor windows are more problematic than ground floor windows. id be surprised if they deem it exempt.

true, but depends on the council, as it doesnt effect the front elevation it may comply to some coco's interpretation of the planning exemptions, however, it is on a side potentially overlooking another dwelling so frosted/opaque glazing would be a must (in my opinion anyway)

Good point. Well it's goin to be a bathroom so frosted glass would suit. I wasn't thinking of that. Thanks all for the input. I'll ring the coco.
