Is it possible to receive calls that originate from
    1. another voipgain user?
    2. a user on another voip network?
    3. a user on the pstn?
and if so what address should I use?

    Try this:
Dial from another voip device: myusername@sip.voipgain.com.

It is not possible to call that from a pstn line, you'll require a number for that. If you topup blueface €5, you get an 076 and setup call forwarding to myusername@sip.voipgain.com. Don't forget to replace myusername with your voipgain username. It may not be possible but worth trying.

    I hope this helps!

I just checked here and the following works .....

    sip:<username>@sip.voipwise.com

I would expect a similar result from your provider Voipgain ..... they both being Betamax companies as I understand.

Try to change the username of the sip url with your actual voipgain username.

    Hope this helps!

My username = ******** (hidden for security)
In Blueface toolbox, I choose my geo number and enter 1st normal forward
    ********@sip.voipgain.com and get the message

Can you confirm you're entering this in the 1st normal forward box or where, because it won't work for me using either
    sip:********@sip.voipgain.com
    or
    sip:*******@sip.voipwise.com

I want to do this to use the cheapish rates to mobiles for diverting off a landline number by call forwarding off voipgain

In your first post you asked about receiving calls on VoipGain ..... my response answers questions 1. & 2. --- yes I can receive calls from VoipWise and other SIP providers, on my VoipWise account.

You have introduced call forwarding into the mix ...... and it appears that it is with that you have a problem and not with receiving a call.

I know nothing of call forwarding between service providers.

Have you asked Blueface about this? Seems to be where the problem lies ........

    regards.

    Hmmm..

Voipgain.com might block incoming calls via your sip URI.

Try this: create a free account with pbxes.com, create an extension and configure it with your device, and add a trunk named (blank) and include your voipgain sip account user, password and sip server. Then setup inbound and outbound routing as with your trunk. You can setup dial plans via pbxes.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi guys

We block SIP forwarding to external end points on the ToolBox. It was creating havoc so now we handle this only on a whitelist basis.

Could you send an email to support@blueface.ie with your username and mentioning you want to forward to sip.voipgain.com , please ?

I'll raise the case with my colleagues.
